Ron Weasley, however you like him best.

Prompt claiming open now!

*steps off of center-justified soapbox* I really want to highlight the multimedia nature of this fest, for a second. We've got a few signups for art and fanmixes already, but we'd really love to showcase skills rarely seen in conventional fests. Crocheted dolls? Puppet shows? A tapestry of Ron's life? Anything you can dream up, we will welcome with open arms. And it's a very low-pressure fest. And it's RON!

Prompt claiming post here.

Claims open until December 1st.

Today is the 29th birthday of Harry Potter and the 44th birthday of J.K. Rowling. To celebrate this special day, I crocheted a doll of Harry Potter himself.

I knitted a Weasley sweater for my baby, and I just had to post a picture here.

Too cute! )

i found this fabric a couple years ago, and decided to buy some. it sat neatly in a shopping bag until a month ago, when i sewed it up into this neat quilt/wall hanging. there's padding in between this two layers, making it quite soft, and the back (shown on the right) has a soft glitter glaze over it, making it really pretty. i also added glitter glaze over harry's yellow wand trail. it looks great at night, glowing in the light of a small lamp!

also, if anyone would be interested in purchasing it, i am selling it. sadly, i am going off to college and do not have room to display it anymore, and i'd rather somebody enjoy it than me storing it away.

since it's quieter over here than in [info]hp_knitting i figured i'd share this here.  i just got done watching the HBP trailer and now i'm all sorts of motivated to finish my in progress house scarves and to share my accidental HP knit.  story - i decided to knit some diaper soakers for my newborn and decided to go through my stash and see what i could use up there.  happened to pull out some blue, green, cream, and grey.  decided to pair the green with the cream and the blue with the grey.  it wasn't until i'd pretty much finished the soaker and was looking at it that i went "hey you know, that rather looks like Ravenclaw colors..."  it was a totally unconscious choice when i put the blue with the grey.  got a kick out of that because i think of myself as a Ravenclaw.  they wouldn't have been my first choice for Ravenclaw colors but it's close enough.  hee!  the colors are a bit lighter than they are in the picture.  the blue yearn is some nice wool that i can't remember the name of that was given to me by a friend who was de-stashing.  the grey is actually Caron Simply Soft.  i purposefully chose a nice soft acrylic for the waist and legs because i have a bit of a sensitivity to wool (makes me itch) and i was afraid the baby might have the same problem.  so i wanted something different on the parts where the soaker would be touching skin and not diaper.   and sorry about the blurriness.  it was a cloudy day and for some reason when i take pictures inside on a cloudy day they come out blurry.  i have yet to figure out why.  anyway.

I'm sweltering in the heat of summer scrambling madly to get ready for Terminus, and I realized I had stuff to post. :)

So, I'm procrastinating from my big pile of fic to read to do 2 things.

The first is to show off a hat, scarf, glove set I knit for a friend in exchange for art.
Wit Beyond Measure )

The second is to mention that I'll be leading the two knitting workshops at Terminus because [info]jkg_vader can't make it. :( My sessions are Friday at 3:30 and Saturday at 2 and I learned today that the room has a 24 person capacity. So on the one hand I invite everyone to stop on by with their knitting/crocheting/etc if you like. BUT, I might have to kick out folks who don't need knitting help, if the room fills beyond capacity. I don't expect it to, but I figured I might as well include that caveat. Regardless, I hope folks who are going to be at Terminus will stop by and say "hello", at the least. :) You can watch me try and knit with my giant knitting needles! OK, they're smaller in diameter than a US#50, but not by much! :D

Hi! I've been watching this community for some time now and only recently joined. It's lovely to have a place where fellow knitters and HP fans can chat and share their creations. You've inspired me to start my own little project for my growing "Weasley" family! : )

» I'll Finish This Someday...
This is my own Weasley knitting project, a Ravenclaw scarf. I actually started it last June (I have fits of knitting, rather than doing it by any sort of schedule).
